Adidas factory in Gurgaon destroyed!

It is common knowledge that infrastructure development in Gurgaon is happening at such a rapid pace that the government machinery is not able to keep up with it.

The government has failed to ensure that the commercial entities in the city are well prepared to handle any mishaps.

And we just have an example of that with the latest incident happening in the city of Gurgaon.

An Adidas factory in the city was destroyed by fire yesterday. Thankfully, there were no casualties.

A fire department official said: ‘It was a major fire and over 30 fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flames. The fire is now under control. There were no casualties as the factory was closed when the incident took place.”

Gurgaon to get modern bus stands?

Public transport system in Gurgaon is as good as non-existing.

Buses catering to local traffic are a rare species.

Bus stands? There aren’t any we believe.

The Haryana government has now announced that they are going to construct 20 passengers friendly ultra modern bus stands in the State.

That’s right 20 bus stands for the entire state. What a relief!

As per reports in the media, Gurgaon would get three of them:

Sector 29
Rajiv Chowk

Club Saffire Bistro and Lounge in Gurgaon in news for all the bad reasons

Saffire Bistro and Lounge likes to be in news for controversies again and again.

It is in news once again for similar reasons.

The bouncers at the club became violent with a group of people who wanted to go to the club.

The group included a 29-year-old Italian photographer Federico Brasola and a British citizen Inderdeep.

They were denied entry into the club for not following the dress code of the club. Reports say that the bouncers treated the group badly and there was a scuffle between them.

After that, the bouncers just went ahead and started beating them.

Rajat Grover, general manager of the club claims that the bouncers were not at fault as the visitors started arguing with them leading to the problems.

Heavy fine for using plastic bags in Gurgaon!

Situation is becoming hopeless now. Haryana government has now implemented a blanket ban on plastic bags in Gurgaon along with Faridabad and Panchkula.

The government had previously banned bags of less than 30 micron thickness and 8×12 inch size.

The ban is now expanded. And the fines are heavy.

The ruling states that the manufacturer of infringing bags can be fined up to Rs. 50,000.

Shopkeepers offering them can be fined up to Rs. 5000.

People who are found littering them around can also be fined as much as Rs. 500.

The problem is that people who go out shopping have few alternatives. Government has failed to provide easy affordable alternative. They excel at implementing bans and fines. Why not create an industry offering cheap alternative packaging material and promote them before implementing a ban on the plastic bags just like that?
