Gurgaon Metro: 2 days to the beginning of a new era!
There is excellent news for people living in the city of Gurgaon.
Delhi Metro would connect Gurgaon to Delhi from June 21.
In just two days, we would have a new mode of transport.
Initially, Metro would connect Huda City Center in Gurgaon to Qutb Minar in Delhi.
COnnectivity to other parts of Delhi would only be complete later this year.
This connectivity would not be useful to a lot of folks around here who might want to travel to as far as North or East Delhi but it is a good beginning.
We cannot wait to become one of the first travelers on this new route.
June 21, 2010 would be a historic day indeed!
DMRC: Metro stations in Gurgaon would have parking facilities
It is becoming harder and harder to find parking space in the various malls in the city of Gurgaon.
Metro is coming to the city and it would become harder for people who want to use the Metro but live at a distance from a metro station.
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has revealed that as many as five metro stations in Gurgaon would have parking facilities.
The largest parking facility would be available at the HUDA City Center station.
The other stations to have parking facilities are: IFFCO Chowk, M.G. Road, Sikanderpur and Guru Dronacharya Metro station.
DMRC further said that the Gurgaon sector of this metro route would be open to public from March this year. It would be connected to Delhi region by May.
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation set to trial run on the Gurgaon line
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has announced that they would begin testing of the metro rail in Gurgaon region from January 29.
The launch of the trial run would be attended by Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Urban development minister Jaipal Reddy.
This test run would be for a distance of 11 kilometers from HUDA City Center to IFFCO Chowk, MG Road, Sikandarpur, Guru Dronacharya, Arjangarh, Ghitorni and Sultanpur Metro stations.
Delhi Metro has still not decided on the public launch of the stretch between Delhi and Gurgaon. Apparently, Haryana government has requested them to launch the metro in Gurgaon region before the entire stretch is complete to provide connectivity with Delhi.
