Scottish High International School dislikes freedom of speech?

Disclaimer: I am not a parent of any kid that studies in this school. In fact, I am not even a parent. I am just an amused blogger from Gurgaon.

Scottish High International School has filed a 20 lakh rupee defamation suit against parents of some students of the school.

The parents were protesting fee hike by the school on a Google Group online.

The lawsuit was filed after Delhi High Court restrained the parents from operating the said Google Group.

The school is also opposing the name of the said group: “Scottish International School Parents’ Association”.

I guess they believe that the fair usage of the school’s name is also not permissible. What is wrong if the parents want to discuss their grievances online?

One parent named Vinay Prakash said that the forum was being used to protest the “unfair and fraudulent ways of fleecing parents by charging fees under false heads”.

I guess the school probably skips teaching the students their fundamental rights too.

    school has been unfair dealing the fees hike and other issues/concerns with the parents. We had been trying to approach the management to discuss the parents’ concerns but school doesn’t want to listen anything. they think they are self-sufficient to run this org and they dont need any advises for it. They are contended with their thinking of producing “highlanders”, doesnt matter what is the ground reality, quality of eductaion, board results, teachers’ attrition rate etc.

    3 principals have been changed in the last 3 years. what kind of good school it is. One of the parent was telling me that school is run by a business family and not by any educationist. They initially hired Kabir Mustafi and used him for marketing the school. After achieving their target of 800 kids, they replaced him with another principal and after one year she also left. Now Junior school principal is made the main principal. I guess they do not need anyones brain to run the the dog and pony show. There are enough puppet maters in the family. I am happy that my kids do not go to thsi school.

    this is the standard money minded way of running schools. To increase number of children they first get one reputed principal for high salary. when target is reached, replace with cheaper alternative who will be the management side puppet. Do high volume of advertising media with Gandhi and Mother teresa images. this is the dog and pony show and there is no shortage of continuous flow of victims. nobody can stop it.

    Gandhi and Mother Teresa are also victims of greedy operators.

    Showing Gandhi and Mother Teresa images on video ads is to cover so that management can go SCOT FREE…. Don’t they also have Gandhi statue, it is the biggest and cheapest cover, like insurance for protection….

    Gandhi if he was alive will be fully in support of the freedom of speech and civil rights of you parents. Let alone slap defamation suit on parents or do any violent thoughts and actions.
