DMRC: Metro stations in Gurgaon would have parking facilities

It is becoming harder and harder to find parking space in the various malls in the city of Gurgaon.

Metro is coming to the city and it would become harder for people who want to use the Metro but live at a distance from a metro station.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has revealed that as many as five metro stations in Gurgaon would have parking facilities.

The largest parking facility would be available at the HUDA City Center station.

The other stations to have parking facilities are: IFFCO Chowk, M.G. Road, Sikanderpur and Guru Dronacharya Metro station.

DMRC further said that the Gurgaon sector of this metro route would be open to public from March this year. It would be connected to Delhi region by May.

Regarding the Metro trains in Gurgaon, I would say ..on one side it's a great step towards overcoming the traffic menace we see daily on the city roads, but at the other side, when I look towards the old gurgaon area (the portion on the right side while coming from Delhi, NH8, Sukhrali, Palam Vihar, Udyog Vihar) has been kept away from Metro's reach. I am unable to figure out the exact reason but it seems to me that government decided to do a favour to the riches staying in posh areas in DLF and nearabouts and forgot the actual people of gurgaon who contributed hard in making gurgaon as The GURGAON.

The way Metro link has been planned in the city...it has access only for the people in one part of Gurgaon whereas 80% of Gurgaon has been deprived of Metro.

Hope government will consider the pain and agony of these people and will do something.....overall...till now....no public transport facility in such a world class city...atleast..when we pay the maximum tax in the state.
